Plano, Texas, March 13, 2013 – VAZATA, a full service cloud infrastructure, managed services and colocation provider, today announced that Annie Williams has joined the leadership team as Vice President of Federal Sales.
Lance Black, CEO of VAZATA, said, “we’re very focused on acquiring proven and highly experienced division leaders so we can continue to build our business and accelerate our rate of growth. Annie is precisely the kind of talent we’ve been looking for. Her background is rooted in the IT infrastructure industry and she brings with her extensive knowledge in data center technology, cloud services and federal government sales.”
In her new role, Williams will lead sales strategy and revenue acquisition for VAZATA’s federal division. VAZATA was the first cloud services provider to receive an Authority to Operate (ATO) under the U.S. federal government’s “Cloud First” initiative. The company presently supports federal government customers and operates three tier III, FISMA compliant data centers located in Virginia and Texas, along with a proprietary virtualization platform called vStructure™.
“I am thrilled to be joining an executive team that truly recognizes the potential of this market,” said Williams. “For innovators who are able to deliver on the latest consumption and delivery models for colocation and Infrastructure-as-a-Service – and are able to do so in a highly secure and consistent way — the sky is the limit. VAZATA is in exactly that position particularly as it relates to the federal market, which is very focused on doing more with less.”
Williams has held various executive leadership positions in VAZATA’s industry including Vice President of Strategic Development for Terremark (a Verizon Company) and Vice President of Federal Sales for Terremark’s Federal Group. She has also worked in various leadership capacities for Cisco Systems, EMC Federal Group, 3COM and Avnet Computer Technologies.
