Plano, Texas — January 15, 2015 — VAZATA, a full service cloud infrastructure, managed hosting and colocation provider has announced it was selected by Innovative Business Software (IBS) to deliver the first-ever UL certified cloud-based security alarm monitoring product. The solution is hosted on the VAZATA vStructure™ Cloud IaaS platform and required VAZATA’s auditing support to obtain UL Certification for the SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) based security solution. The VAZATA data center, where the services are hosted, underwent an audit and obtained the UL certification. VAZATA is the first ever, multi-tenant data center to obtain the certification. During the investigation, UL amended the required standard for compliance approval to include the power generation equipment (DRUPS) located in VAZATA’s Virginia data center called NoVa. Modifying set standards based on investigations are rare and has given VAZATA the distinction of being the first to modify such a standard.
IBS, a major supplier of Central Station automation software throughout the US and Europe, was challenged with finding a cloud platform that supported their mission critical applications while insuring availability, compliance and stability. VAZATA’s vStructure™ Cloud IaaS platform supports the mission critical application IBS delivers to security integrators, telecommunication companies, retailers, and cities throughout the Americas and Europe. VAZATA’s geographically diverse and redundant infrastructure assures the 100% availability required by IBS for their critical service delivery.
“We needed an IaaS provider that could support co-location and virtualization across redundant data centers and permit rigorous inspection by UL” said Jens Kolind, Vice President at Innovative Business Software, “VAZATA was the only provider that could meet all these requirements”.
VAZATA’s vStructure™ Cloud IaaS solution utilizes four basic layers: Data Center Layer, Network/Security Layer, Compute Layer and the Storage Layer that allows for a scalable, secure virtual environment that reinforces the network, hypervisor and storage layers with an industry leading 100% SLA. VAZATA was able to architect a solution for IBS and create a virtual environment while securing the first-of-a-kind safety-related UL certification required for IBS to provide central station monitoring in the Cloud.
“Innovative Business Software is a pacesetter in their industry and we are very pleased to be supporting them through our highly compliant cloud platform. We’re also thrilled to have distinguished ourselves in the UL certification audit, setting a new standard for others to follow,” said John Greenwood, EVP of Sales and Marketing at VAZATA.
SBN Cloud provides IBS’s well-known Central Station automation as a pay-as-you-go service. It enables customers to monitor premise locations for intrusion and fire, and offers integration to products such as video. The service is hosted on triple redundant infrastructure in two US based data centers more than 1,000 miles apart. Both have been approved for US government contracts.
